Acute gastroenteriti: Usually, this viral illness lasts 10-14 days. May not present with fever. Glad emesis has stopped and not dehydrated. Clear liquid diet (pedialye, water) recommended. Soft foods, no milk products until illness resolves. Depending if traveling, if bloody stools, fever develop, see MD for further exploration of bacterial stool infection.

I support the answer: Indeed in ,immuno -supressed and babies the decision to give antibiotics is cautiously considered if any .In this case, the improvement in symptoms, absense of fever and dehydration, antibiotics have no role . The diarrhea may last for more than a week . Avoidance of milk is observed for a few more days allowing the cilia to recover and reproduce the digestive enzymes.
