A member asked:

Was prescribed 50,000 iu of vitamin d once a week. i never stopped taking the additional 2000 iu that i was already taking. is this bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vitamin D: If your serum vitamin D and calcium levels are not abnormally high, there should be no problem. Some people don't absorb vitamin D well and require high doses. It is important to monitor your serum calcium and vitamin D levels periodically to detect any hypercalcemia or hypervitaminosis D.
