It happens: Find a life coach/therapist to help sort out why you are in this state. Your regular doc can help you get started. If you do the work there are happy days ahead, if not, it's a sad life.

Medication may take: the edge off of social anxiety but it does not address the root issue. Stress management education and therapy w/a mental health professional are the most useful route to resolving this in my experience. Please continue to see your doctor.
