Muscle/rib likely: If his chest pain is clearly aggravated by breathing or turning his torso, it is not cardiac pain. He has probably injured muscle/rib in his chest wall. If he develops fever he needs to be evaluated for a rare complication of severe vomiting, such as a ruptured esophagus. Heating pad and/or anti-inflammatory drug may help.
