A member asked:

Blood test reveals high aso. do i need treatment? can high aso levels cause heart palpitations and joint pain? effects of high aso?? what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a high ASO is an indication of a prior streptococcal infection and by itself is not diagnostic of any disease.
