A member asked:

I think last night my shoulder got dislocated it made a pop lifted it up and it poped back in the socket with excruciating paid and burning any advise?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on pain now: If the injury happened with a movement and not an injury and sponstaneously popped back, there may have been only partial subluxation and not a true dislocation which usually requires manipulation to reduce. Either way, ice, ibuprofen for pain, and immobilization for several days with a sling is a good idea. If there was an injury, get ortho eval for PT Rx to prevent recurrent episodes.
