Various signs: Implantation bleeding usually occurs just before the next period is expected. It produces an unusual discharge that varies in color from pinkish to very dark brown or black. Bleeding is often confused with menstrual spotting and lasts only a day or two, and it may be associated with some cramping. If it is implantation, a pregnancy test would be positive a few days later.
