Eat few calories and: Anything that uses energy (calories) will help one lose weight, as long as he doesn't eat or drink back more calories right after the activity. Examples: if walking, take a longer route; use stairs instead of elevators; take multiple trips to and from the car when unloading groceries; park a block from school and walk there with the kids; at home skip dessert and go walk around the block instead.

Exercising: To lose weight insure that calories burned > calories consumed. Drink at least 8 - 8 oz glasses of water per day. Try for 8 hours of sleep/night. Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables & 4 servings of fruit per day. Use whole grain when possible. Avoid sodas, alcohol & junk carbohydrates. Get in a good mix of aerobic & weight lifting exercises.

Weight loss: In addition to the good advice others have offered, consider asking your doctor about the ketogenic diet. That’s high good fat and low carb. Your body will burn fat for fuel rather than sugar and you will feel full and cravings will lessen. Peace and good health.
