I have a tooth that has a crown on it. when i floss in that area it elks terrible. now when i have a bowel movement it has that same distinct smell.

Crowned tooth: You may have leakage and recurrent decay under the crown requiring removal of the crown and pretreatment. You may have infected gums/bone around the tooth. In any case imperative that you see your Dentist now for treatment of your infection. Time is not your friend, infections like this do not self-heal.
