Good question: Hi, This is a good question and not so simple to answer. I've heard different statistics for the risk of developing cancer in a persons lifetime that ranges somewhere between 25% to 50%. Recent research I've seen lists this risk around 38% to 40%. This is for all cancers and over a lifetime. There are many different types of cancers. A close family member having it may increase your risk.
