Ingrown nail/corn: You may have an ingrown nail on that toe which is rubbing the skin and making it painful. If it breaks the skin it may also become infected. Or you may have had the toe rubbing the side of a pair of shoes that are a little too tight which can also cause the symptoms you describe. If this condition persists or worsens see a Podiatrist who will diagnose your condition and make it better for you.
