DJD or tendinitis?: You may have DJD (degenerative joint disease). This is a form of arthritis, (painful inflammation of joints). If the pain is elsewhere (hands, etc), you may have a more systemic type of arthritis: rheumatoid or psoriatic. Another possibility is tendinitis. If you have irritated the muscle that pulls your toes up, each toe may be painful to bend, and the tendon on the top of your foot may hurt.

Sore toes: Sore stiff toes can occur after an injury or it can be part of symptoms of other medical conditions such as arthritis. Did you injure your foot? X-rays should be taken. See a podiatrist for an exam and treatment.

Toes: Was there any trauma tha took place. Bending at the joint with pain could be arthritis, capsulitis , stress fracture. See a podiatrist for an x-ray.
