Newborn best : Circumcision is a personal choice common to many cultures around the world. It was the most requested elective surgery of enlisted sailors when I was in the Navy. I prefer it to be done in the newborn period if possible when it is simple, can be done under local and heals quickly. If not, 1-2 yrs of age is okay but it requires a general anesthesia & longer recovery. It has it's long term benefits
