Salivary glands: The parotid gland has a duct that empties into the mouth around that area of the cheek. The parotid gland is one of the salivary glands.

Parotid Gland: Good evening; The duct of each parotid empties around the mid cheek area. Swellings may occur in both the gland and duct. Causes may vary from a duct being clogged(Sialolithiasis) to serious neoplastic disease.

Salivary glands: The largest of the salivary glands, the Parotid glands (where you get mumps) are located in your cheeks, toward the back, and empty into the mouth opposite the upper 6 year molars. If you have pain or swelling you should be examined. May be anything from a partially blocked duct to a neoplasm. See your Dentist, your PCP, Urgent Care, an Oral Surgeon, or an ENT.
