2-3 wks: Some people with mumps virus have either no signs or symptoms or very mild ones. When signs and symptoms develop they generally appear about two to three weeks after exposure to the mumps virus. This may include swollen, painful salivary glands on one or both sides of your face, headache, fever, weakness and fatigue, muscle aches, loss of appetite and pain while chewing or swallowing.
