A member asked:

I am an active 41 year old female. i have been noticing on my stats when i run that my average heart rate is between 155-162 bpm. i peak around 173-184 and spend most of the time i run in the peak zone. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pretty much normal: 179-180 bpm. Karp states that there are two formulas to figure your heart rate while running. For the first, subtract your age from 220 to find your maximum heart rate. A 32-year-old's max heart rate would be 188 beats per minute. The second formula, the Karvonen Method, determines your average running heart rate. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/exercise.../art-200468
