A member asked:

Is it possible to go through a 2nd pregnancy where cerclage may not be required because scar tissue from previous pregnancy makes cervix firm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: The cervix is made up of fibrous tissue and when the cervix dilates too easily in pregnancy allowing pregnancy loss, subsequent cervical scar tissue does not reduce the probability of a recurrent pregnancy loss from an incompetent cervix. A cerclage may again be necessary.
