A member asked:

When the doctor can remove a cerclage later in pregnancy do you have to go thru labor after the removal?

No: once the cerclage is removed, they will observe you for a while to see if you are going into labor. They can send you home and instruct you to return when you go into labor naturally. They dont usually induce labor after removal of cerclage best wishes Dr M

Eventually: The cerclage is typically removed around week 35-36 i most cases assuming the plan is to have a vaginal delivery. It is not possible to predict when the onset of labor will begin. It could be hours, days, weeks depending on the individual.
