A member asked:

Im 8 weeks pregnant and taking (arv) trivenz , can they minimise the risk of passing the virus to my child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If you have an infectious disease doc let them know you are pregnant or find one to assist with management. With good control that keeps your counts in line you can reduce transfer risk from about 40% to less than 5%. The receiving pediatrician should be aware at birth so proper precautions, meds for baby and testing can be done.
