A member asked:

Anion gap of 6 in annual blood work. everything else normal except slightly elevated cholesterol. no symptoms that i can identify. reason for concern?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: You can try to manage the cholesterol with diet by staying away from red meat and utilizing a plant based diet. Anion gap is 6 . Seems little below the normal . Could be a lab error or low albumin or elevated calcium and magnesium level in the blood. Basically it means your blood is slightly alkaline. So, over all you can say that no reason for concern.
