Fluoride toothpaste : Not true but not healthy to swallow on purpose
Dr. Arnold Malerman

No, but...: ...believing what you read on non-referreed sites will lower your IQ. First, don't swallow toothpaste, spit it out, just like it says on the package. Second, if harmful, FDA would ban its use. Third, Fluoride occurs naturally in the water supply of most western states. Do they have brain damage/altered IQ? Talk to an expert, your Dentist, and got off of misinformation sites.

Yes: Usually doctors have a very good reason for getting a CT of the brain in a pregnant woman like checking for bleeding or tumors in the brain. For very good reasons, you can and probably need to get a CT of the brain. The radiation exposure will be low.

Yes: Stick to community-based fluoridated water or Fluoride toothpaste. I do not believe you have to do more than these options. Furthermore, these two options have been shown to decrease tooth decay.

How do I choose the best doctor and medical center to treat my brain cancer?

Dr. Barry Rosen

Quantity & Quality: First and foremost, you need to find a center that has a lot of experience treating your cancer. Second of all, there should be a team of experts that can coordinate your care, since there may be more than one treatment modality needed (having a nurse navigator is very helpful). Last but not least, you have to feel comfortable with your doctor: compassion and communication is critical.
