No: PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) is a pattern of illness caused by a collection of germs, often transmitted sexually. The intensity of PID often requires hospitalization for high dose intravenous meds to resolve the issue. Chronic cervicitis is a low grade outpatient condition that can be triggered by germs that are common to the female genital tract & need not be sexually transmitted.
