A member asked:

Is accelerated schedule of japanese encephellitis vaccine (2 doses given 7 days apart) effective and safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: The original research used to get the vaccine approved for use used the 28 day interval as the standard. That produced a good pattern of effectiveness & possibly 6 years worth of protection. I would be not be too concerned about safety, since that of each dose has been good. I would suspect the duration of protection may be shortened to a few years at most.
