A member asked:

So finally had my 1st pms lasted for 6 days after being on the depo for 3 yrs . so now i'm just seeing would i be able to get pregnant again ???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to guess: DepoProvera works by blocking the release of pituitary gonadotropin hormones that normally keep menstrual cycles regular. Once the Depo's blocking is removed, the normal ovulation cycle should resume (but it's not predictable exactly when). Experts on HealthTap have mentioned 9-18 months as the time range. A urine pregnancy test done 3 weeks after sex and ovulation can check for pregnancy.
