Lithium efficasy: Average adult dose of lithium is 1200/day in divided doses. Maximum dose/day is 2400 mg/day. Lithium has a long half life & so takes weeks to show the correct level. Your doctor can increase your dose weekly & see. but if you have symptomatic relief, level can be ignored. Each body is different.
