Wait: These things go away in a week if untreated and in about 7 days if treated. There are some topical treatments to ease the discomfort. Ask your pharmacist for the latest one. If it is a chronic problem, ask your md which childhood disease injection can work. The last on i heard about was for chicken pox.

Licorice root: Canker sores are often triggered by particular foods like citrus, tomatoes & gluten. Some are caused by sodium lauryl sulfate, commonly found in toothpastes. My favorite treatment is topical licorice extract in chewable tabs, but homeopathy may help. Should heal in a week or so even without treatment- if not see a doc! see http://www.Huffingtonpost.Com/2013/02/11/canker-sores-causes_n_2647071.Html.
