Exam: Possible causes for vaginal itching include yeast infection, STDs, bacterial vaginosis, & chemicals from creams, douches, tissue, fabric softeners, etc. You should use water & a plain soap which is unscented to clean your external genital area, avoid scented pads, toilet paper, bubble bath & douches, wear cotton panties & use condoms during sex. Also, please get examined at a medical clinic.

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infection, also known as thrush) is the most common cause of such symptoms. Best approach is to see your GP or gynecologist. Or you could try one of the many vaginal yeast treatments not requring prescription; look for active ingredient ending in "azole" (clotrimazole, miconazole, etc). See a doctor for sure if that doesn't clear up your symptoms in a week.
