A member asked:

Are statin drugs for cholesterol a scam by big pharma or do they actually work?

Absolutely not: These are extremely effective agents in reducing cardiovascular risks and are, imo, one of the greatest medical advances of the last 25 years.

Life-savers: Our society is overmedicated largely due to demands created by the hated pharmaceutical industry. But there are no actual "scams", unlike the bulk of the "natural healing" stuff. And the cheap statins unquestionably have prolonged and improved the quality of many millions of lives. They control my own hereditary cholesterol problem for less than $50/year. Please be discerning, Sophie.
