Fine lung scarring: Fine lung scarring usu. has no firm cause but can be due to autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma as well as after exposure to asbestos or drugs. These include busulfan, bleomycin, nitrofurantoin, hydralazine, methotrexate, and amiodarone. Often the finding is incidental and has no specific cause/ importance. Sometimes an incomplete inspiration can exaggerate markings.
