A member asked:

My son was born on the 12th june 2018. he was born with this bump/lump on his head. i think is cephalohematoma. what does need to do.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Monitor: True cephalohematomas will usually dissipate over the first weeks. Occasionally the blood collection under the involved scalp will leave a residual lump that represents a calcium deposit. It can last for months. These are monitored during regular checkups but left alone. Normal skull growth will eventually incorporate/resolve any bump.
