Monitor: True cephalohematomas will usually dissipate over the first weeks. Occasionally the blood collection under the involved scalp will leave a residual lump that represents a calcium deposit. It can last for months. These are monitored during regular checkups but left alone. Normal skull growth will eventually incorporate/resolve any bump.
