No, its bacterial: trichomycosis sounds fungal but is caused by Corynebacterium. You've taken the most important step towards treatment but after just shaving once it usually comes back. Shave for 3 weeks and use Benzoyl peroxide gel or wash which will help clear the infection and prevent recurrence. Antiperspirant helps. Topical antibiotics clindamycin or erythromycin are very effective, antifungal naftifine works
