A member asked:

Mri report says, "severely extensive muscle strain of the teres minor and small irregular tear". does this mean the muscle is torn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: You may have some "intramuscular tearing" of the teres minor, & a small rotator cuff tear of the same tendon. MInd you, muscle and a tendon are different parts of the same structure. For a young person to have such an injury, it is usually traumatic in origin. Your ortho doc may recommend therapy and anti-inflammatories as a first line of treatment.
