If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . A number of issues: Hypermenorrhea, or too frequent menstrual periods can have several causes, including hyperthyroidism. However, there are several more causes that need to be examined by a GYN MD to determine the source of the period frequency when she sees him/her.
