Find the cause: Causes of cough include some that are quite subtle -- asthma can cough instead of wheeze, mitral valve disease, Wegener's, being on angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, an aspirated foreign body, and a few dozen others. You're young, so lung cancer is unlikely but there's plenty of TB out there. Your physician can help. Best wishes.
