I am a male and active in sports. recently diagnosed with umbilical hernia. is there other treatment method available other than surgery?

You can ignore it: This label means there is a penetration of underlying tissues trough the layers that are meant to hold it in place. If it includes a loop of small intestine that loop could become trapped/die/and germs escape to your blood and kill you. If it is small & never bothers you, ignore it. If you notice it often or it ever causes pain it is better to fix it when you are healthy than wait until trapped.
