I'm on antibiotics for lower abdomen infection and told not to have diary, zinc or iron. i'm vegetarian so what foods are best and not so best for me?

Absorption issue: Believe the avoidance of dairy and zinc is needed because they may interfere with absorption. Suggest that you allow 2 hours lapse between eating and taking the antibiotic to avoid the interference.

Eat what you wish: Food choices are not the key to health or recovery. Iron and zinc in their inorganic forms as in vitamins bind tetracycline and make it unusable, hence the restriction. Vegetarians do need to supplement, your physician can guide you on this.
