I have numerous faint red dots, not itchy, on my arm that have suddenly appeared over night. are these insect bites or allergies? also, can parasites cause these?

Give it a week: They are unlikely from allergies in the absence of itching. However viral infection is often associated with a rash (think German measles etc) and I suspect that's what you may have. If the rash persists for over 10 days without improvement, see your doctor.
