A member asked:

My 21 month old got a 10 mg claritin tablet. i got some of her mouth, but i'm pretty sure she swallowed some. is this dangerous?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can call Pois.Contr.: In such situations, a parent can call the local Poison Control number, or the child's pediatrician's office. A question will be, "Did the child already eat one or more pills that the parent does not know about?" That said, if the child only ate half of a 10mg Claritin pill, that 5 mg would be the usual dose for a child aged 2-5 years. Hopefully, everything will be fine.
