Why a decongestant spray like afrin immediately following a nosebleed?

Helpful measure: Afrin & similar products act directly at tissue level to shrink down capillaries that bleed in a nose bleed. The effect can last for hours. It may not stop a NB but can reduce the blood flow to the area involved. This would assist other measures.
