OK: You shouldn't have any serious problems from ingesting a trace amount of the decongestant. The stimulant effect, if it occurs, would be short-lived. Your pharmacist can also advise you about this matter.

Is afrin enough of a decongestant when trying to get rid of sinus/ear infection, or do I need an oral decon too? Taking cefdinir, prednisone and a Zyrtec at night currently. Nasal congestion better but ears still clogged, little hearing out of ears?
I use oxymetazoline based decongestants for over a decade every single day. When I stop my nose gets blocked bad. I have a horrible headache as well.
