Bone scan: If osteoporosis, or osteopenia (less risk of fractures) was diagnosed, you need treatment with biphosphates to increase bone density. This is important, since a fracture of a long bone (leg, hip, etc.) can be fatal in 20 % of individuals b/c of fat emboli. Consult your physician for treatment.
