Burning pain.: Burning epigastric pain 90 min-3 hours after meals relieved by food is probably the most distinguishing symptom from colon cancer. Other symptoms, like weight loss, blood in stool can be seen in both. Altered bowel habits and anemia are other symptoms/signs found in colon cancer.

Different: Ulcers generally cause upper abdominal pain, burning, radiation to back.Can include nausea, black tarry stools and weight loss. Colorectal cancer symptoms include blood in stool, change in bowels and weight loss.
