~3 wk ago, sudden calf tightness day after walking rocky pasture not relieved by stretching. under dr. tx for sciatica (presented 4 days post onset w/ traditional sciatica symptoms). calf symptoms went away and returned 2 days ago. is this normal?

I Like MRI: I like a firm diagnosis. If this is compromise of a lower lumbar nerve root, let's see it on an MRI. This may direct treatment/help with prognosis. Under 50 I would expect a disc problem but arthritis of a joint in the back may also contribute. Physical exam can also help show disc pathology but is not as sensitive/specific as MRI. Insurance will also want plain x rays. This may not add much.

How long can it take for sciatica to resolve? I was dx with sciatica 1 wk ago. Pred&flexoril prescribed but symptoms still persist @ 15d post onset. Also having tightness in calf. Pain not bad but the fatigue is annoying. Some days ok, others worse.
Calf pain (unknown reason may be overuse) for 10months. No visible signs from outside. Scan confirmed no blood clots. Walking makes worse and resting,massaging,and stretching make feel better almost immediately. But the tight pain keep coming back?

Been two days j cant walk cus my leg muscles r tight.( i was dancin too much) i took aleeve and ibuphron and been putting icehot patches nothing works?
