Recovery Meaning:: Recovery means ongoing sobriety. Alcoholism is a patient disease & the alcoholic must control his chronic illness w/ constant attention to his health through working his program. This may mean working w/ a sponsor, attending support program, staying physically & spiritually healthy, & avoiding all addictive substances. This is a chronic disease, like diabetes & wellness is frequent but not cure.
