Contrave: It can help patients with weight loss, but I modify the protocol to start with one pill q dy for a week, then increase every 1 to 2 weeks AS TOLERATED to the manufacturer suggested dose. Even on a low dose patients have lost weight, if used with a low carb, high protein diet or the DASH diet and increased activity. Their associated support programs are also useful.

Hardly seems right: After seeing that this is a combination of Wellbutrin and naltrexone, I hardly think this qualifies as a good weight loss medication, unless anxiety and addictive behavior is at the root of the patient's psyche, but would leave that up to a psychologist/psychiatrist to make that decision...
