Are vocal cord implants safe? ive waited a year and cord didnt come back spontaneously.i feel like my breathing is a bit affected by this in somehow

A doctor has provided 1 answer

VC implant: Assume you are asking about laryngoplasty either by injection or Type I with silastic prosthesis.. Injection procedure can performed in office setting with or without sedation. Type I procedure performed in OR usually with patient sedated but able to follow voice commands. Procedures generally safe. Transoral route for injection requires good topical anesthesia, good visualization.
