AM a fib: In the early morning hours strokes, heart attacks and blood pressure surges are more common due to release of adrenalin. This can also increase heart rate and atrial irritability which,in your case, may lead to a fib. Perhaps taking a beta blocker like metoprolol at bed time may reduce the early morning release of adrenalin. Your cardiologist is best qualified to advise you on this matter.
