Risk factors: The answer is determined on the patient's risk factors and there are a few, as well as on the type of afib and possibly on the type of surgery. Rivaroxaban is generally given 20 mg once daily with the evening meal and Plavix (clopidogrel) 75 mg once daily along with aspirin. The complexities requires you to discuss this with your doctor or cardiologist.
