A 21-year-old male asked:

Is it possible for a healthy 19 year old to develop heart block? no symptoms but heart rate as low as 43 at night

Yes: I have seen it in an 8 year old with sleeping rates as low is the high 30's. Seek out care if you haven't. This can be life threatening. A cardiologist should be involved & you may need a pacemaker.

A heart rate of 43 can be normal in a well trained person--which u may be. Agree wi seeing your MD and possibly having an event recorder = a longer recording of heart beat than 24 hours. HRS, MD, FACC
