Every time i have a bowel movement and i wipe it is nothing but slimy i guess you say mucus it's been that way for a long time now. is this normal?

Colonoscopy: If no pain, bleeding, or altered bowel habits (constipation, diarrhea), probably this is nothing serious. However, mucus production by the rectum or lower colon can indicate inflammation, infection, or tumor (adenoma). Also, you're at an age when routine colonoscopy is recommended to check for cancer and pre-cancerous growths like adenomas. See your doctor soon. Good luck!
